Pic of the Week, and then some, courtesy of Busted Flush (where the prologue to TOWER has just been posted). Jason Statham, Ken Bruen and Elliott Lester (director) on the set on Blitz in London …
And while we’re on the topic of Ken Bruen – is anyone else buying Dominic West as Jack Taylor? He seems a little too young, handsome and clean-cut to play Jack, methinks.

God bless Guvnor Bruen!
He's on top of the world, not before time!

That is such a brilliant picture. And Ken has his arm round Jason Statham - no WONDER he looks happy! Whoops, sorry, just got a bit carried away there.
And no, Dec, I don't picture Dominic West as Jack Taylor. Definitely too young and good looking - but... there's something which tells me he'll do a good job. I think he will FEEL like Jack, even if he doesn't LOOK like him.
The early "White Arrest" Brant novels were my first introduction to Ken's work. The man is a genius and fully deserves all the accolades. And doesn’t he look happy. And why not!
Wow, the tremors can probably be felt in the Vatican!
Personally, I think the only person to play Jack Taylor is Ken Bruen. Seriously.
Dec - Bruen as Taylor, that would be pure class.
Love this photo BTW.
Cheers

The real question is whether West is a good enough actor to pull it off. McNulty had some Jack Taylor elements in him, but, yes, he's much younger. On the other hand, I couldn't imagine Casey Affleck as Patrick Kenzie until I saw GONE BABY GONE, and he was excellent.
Hmm, if we exclude Bruen (who would, I agree, fit the part perfectly), who would be a good choice?
Uh, I for one am willing to live with his lack of age appropriateness...
Seriously though, he's handsome, but he's a real actor and not just a pretty face, so I'd be glad to see what he does with the role. But then, I don't have an image in my mind yet as some do, so it's not for me to say.
You know, if I had met a priest like Mr. Bruen there, someone with a keen sense of justice, wit, and a mastery of the metaphysical...I might not be the lapsed bastard I am today.
I agree with Donna, I think West will feel like Taylor. Lord knows he proved he can play a drunken bastard (see THE WIRE).
Oh, I've seen the Wire, so I'm not worried.
Wonderful photo, ken as the priest, woah, very cool
