“Declan Burke is his own genre. The Lammisters dazzles, beguiles and transcends. Virtuoso from start to finish.” – Eoin McNamee “This bourbon-smooth riot of jazz-age excess, high satire and Wodehouse flamboyance is a pitch-perfect bullseye of comic brilliance.” – Irish Independent Books of the Year 2019 “This rapid-fire novel deserves a place on any bookshelf that grants asylum to PG Wodehouse, Flann O’Brien or Kyril Bonfiglioli.” – Eoin Colfer, Guardian Best Books of the Year 2019 “The funniest book of the year.” – Sunday Independent “Declan Burke is one funny bastard. The Lammisters ... conducts a forensic analysis on the anatomy of a story.” – Liz Nugent “Burke’s exuberant prose takes centre stage … He plays with language like a jazz soloist stretching the boundaries of musical theory.” – Totally Dublin “A mega-meta smorgasbord of inventive language ... linguistic verve not just on every page but every line.” – Irish Times “Above all, The Lammisters gives the impression of a writer enjoying himself. And so, dear reader, should you.” – Sunday Times “A triumph of absurdity, which burlesques the literary canon from Shakespeare, Pope and Austen to Flann O’Brien … The Lammisters is very clever indeed.” – The Guardian

I could send my little chap over to gnaw on their ears? He'd love that. They might not though...
Keep me posted on baba watch!
Happy Birthday!
Thanks for Little Vizier update. Good practice that the little one is already pushing you around -deciding on his/her own when to appear.
Give them carrots.
Hope Baby V turns out not to hate bunnies...
I think Sunday would be a good day, because then you'll never have that special day to yourself ever again.
Love the writing:
"In the meantime, if anyone has any ideas of how to keep a veritable warren occupied until Baby Vizier arrives to keep them company at what is rapidly becoming something of a Watership Down refugee camp, the Grand Vizier is all floppy ears … "
Happy birthday for Easter Sunday!
My sixth sense tells me that Miss Grand Vizier will arrive late tomorrow night, by the way. (Which means you'll probably be buying blue things and a football collection next month...)
While you wait, had you thought of getting into practice reading stories? Beatrix Potter's might be a good start given the cot entourage? (And what a splendid trio they make.)
Whatever the day, I wish you both all the best and a safe arrival for Baby Vizier.
What a cute little cot! I think we still have two little bunnies like the smallest one shown.
Looking forward to hearing your news.....
Thank you kindly, ladies ... rest assured you'll be amongst the first to know when the white smoke finally goes up. Cheers, Dec
That bunny family is so frickin cute! Hope Baby Vizier arrives soon.
